Please Note:

Friday, December 29th, 2017 City Hall is closed; however, the Treasurer's Office will have special holiday hours from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.  
Payments placed in the drop box between close of business on December 29th and 7:45 a.m. on January 2nd will be processed as a 2017 payment.

Locations to Make Payments and Payment Options

Online Payments

Online payments are available only for real estate tax bills, using credit card or electronic check.  

Credit card transactions are subject to a 2.39% fee, with a $1.50 minimum transaction fee. Electronic check transactions are $1.50 per eCheck, $10 for transactions $10,000 or greater. Click on the link Pay Your Taxes Online and follow the onscreen instructions.

By Mail

Please use the envelope provided and enclose the remittance portion and your check.  Mail payments are encouraged and should be mailed early.  Please note that the West Allis PO Box on the return envelope is correct, because it tis the location of our bank's processing center.

Payment Drop Box

A Payment Drop Box is located in the East parking lot, adjacent to Brookfield Central High School. 

In Person

Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office by Cash or Check in City Hall or at the Brookfield Tri-City Bank branches


You can print your own receipt by clicking on the Tax Bill Information link and follow the onscreen instructions.  If you would like a receipt returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Please note that if making payment by check, the tax receipt is not valid until the check has cleared all banks.

Service Fee

A $25.00 service fee is charged for all returned items.
Any Real Estate Tax payments received by mail after January 31st, 2018 will be forwarded to the Waukesha County Treasurer’s Office for processing.

Lottery and Gaming Credit

You are eligible for a State Lottery and Gaming Credit for 2017 real estate property taxes payable in 2018, if, on January 1st, 2017, you were the owner of the real property listed on this tax bill, a Wisconsin resident, and used that property as your primary residence.  In addition, if you purchased the property listed on this tax bill after January 1st, 2017, you may claim the credit, provided that you are able to attest that to the best of your knowledge the previous owner used the property as their primary residence as of January 1st, 2017.  If you believe you qualify for a State Lottery and Gaming Credit on your 2017 real estate property tax bill and the credit does not appear on your tax bill, you may make a claim for the credit by January 31st, 2018, using an application available from the City Treasurer's Office.  If it is after January 31st, 2018, you may submit a late claim application to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) by October 1st, 2018, using an application available on the DOR website at:  Do not claim the credit if you do not qualify.  The Wisconsin Department of Revenue will audit all claims for the Lottery and Gaming Credit.  Note that Wisconsin State Statutes require that you notify the City Treasurer within 30 days after you no longer qualify for the credit because you no longer own the property, or no longer use it as your primary residence.  For additional information on the State Lottery and Gaming Credit, contact the Office of the City Treasurer, or write the Wisconsin Department of Revenue at P.O. Box 8971, Madison, Wisconsin 53708-8971.

Personal Property Taxes

Personal Property Taxes are not available online.  Payments must be mailed with a check, or paid in-person with cash or check at the Treasurer's Office or at the Brookfield Tri-City Bank branches.

Any business entity that received a personal property tax bill, and has discontinued doing business or changed their location should contact the City Assessor's Office at 262-796-6649.
